Unisys Financial Services System

offers a portfolio of applications that supports mortgage administration - from sales enquiries and application processing to arrears management and redemptions.  The scalable solution has been servicing UK mortgages for over 25 years, with functional enhancements, re-engineering, re-architecting, and technical improvements being continuously introduced as part of an ongoing program of development.

Objectives

The key objectives of this project were to:

  • Improve the user experience on the HOLMES application.
  • On future changes (such as making the application responsive).
  • Have a pattern library or set of design guidelines that HOLMES technical team can use to make changes in the future, so you can maintain the new experience as the product evolves.
  • Make it easier for users to learn how to use the application
  • Create an evidence base for good/best practice.

My Role

Worked as a User Experience Designer for redesigning Unisys Financial Services System (UFSS) a major mortgage management system and involved in improving the user experience of the solution and develop Style guide which enables the system designers and developers follow the design standards in future requirements.

  • Heuristic Evaluation of existing application
  • Lead the User Centered Design
  • brainstorming sessions and workshops to formulate the design requirements
  • conducted research includes competitor analysis, task analysis, use case scenarios, contextual enquiry, develop a design strategy, persuade top management agree on proposed improvements and to fund the project, stakeholder management, user studies, 
  • Information Architecture, Interaction Design and Usability
  • Given major contribution in the planning and design of the project and successfully implemented the user focused solutions based on user requirements
  • Work closely with team composed of, end users, marketing, design and development team and conducted various sprint sessions around the tasks to discover even smaller details of the functional elements.
